Starting in 1980 the "Capitol Earth Rugs" company has offered eco-friendly, 100% natural jute fiber rugs imported from Bangladesh. These rug are braided, jute makes a strong material for these wicker weave rugs. The jute fiber is beautiful, strong and durable. Earth Rugs has a unique quilt patch braid design. The rugs are sewn together as they did 100 years ago. Walking on these rugs is like walking on grass.
Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads.
